Appropriate seating areas and times for latecomers are at the sole discretion of the director and will vary by production. Guests who arrive after the performance start will be directed to wait until an appropriate break and then be seated in designated late seating, other than the ticketed seat locations.
As a courtesy to the actors and other audience members, please turn off your watch alarm, beeper, and cell phone or set them to a non-audible mode, or you may be asked to leave the performance. This includes texting during performances.
Any guest who may need to be contacted during a performance should leave his/her name, theatre venue, seat location, and our telephone number (216) 771-8403 with the babysitter or answering service.
Cleveland Play House does not have an official dress code. We want you to be comfortable, so casual attire is fine.
All children need a ticket to attend performances. Children under four (4) are not permitted except for specifically-identified productions.
Cleveland Play House does not cancel or reschedule performances or offer refunds due to inclement weather. Please see our policies on ticket exchanges, donations, and if you are a member, Missed Performance Options.
There is a coat rack located in the Allen Theatre lobby just past the House Manager's office and Men's Restroom. It is not maintained so any belongings left there are at your discretion. CPH is not responsible for any items that are lost or stolen.
For most performances, the snack bar and beverage service are available beginning one hour prior to the performance and during intermission. Only beverages may be taken into the theatre during performances. Food is intended for the lobby area only.
CPH Members who are unable to attend scheduled performances may exchange their tickets for another performance of the same production. Please call the CPH Member Services at (216) 400-7096 to make arrangements.
Exchanges are accepted up to 24 hours before the date and time on your tickets.
When exchanging into a higher-priced performance or seating area, the difference in cost is due at the time of the exchange. Refunds are not given for exchanges into lesser-priced performances or seating areas.

In the event a performance or production is canceled by Cleveland Play House, guests will be contacted via phone and email about further arrangements. Please ensure your contact information is up-to-date by logging into your online account, or by calling (216) 400-7096.
Tickets may be reprinted at the Will Call desk at no charge.
Cameras, camera phones, audio, video, and digital recorders, paging devices, and cell phones are not permitted in the theaters. Guests using these items may be ejected without a refund.
All handbags, diaper bags, and cases will be inspected prior to entry. Backpacks and other large bags are not permitted in the theatre. Please leave these items in your car or at home.
Be sure to give yourself enough time to arrive and be in your seat before the show begins.
Firearms are forbidden inside the theatres.
Smoking is only permitted outside the building.
Items left in the theatres after performances are moved to the lost and found, located at Central Security at Playhouse Square; they can be contacted at (216) 640-8777. Cleveland Play House is not responsible for theft or damage to items left in the theatres or lost and found.
