Patrons with mobility or physical disabilities will find wheelchair and accessible seat locations in all of our theatres. Please arrive 30 minutes prior to your curtain time to ensure a Playhouse Square (PSQ) Red Coat usher will be present to assist you. Should you need a wheelchair provided to take you into the venue, a limited number of wheelchairs are available free of charge with no reservation required. However, patrons in need of accommodations for wheelchair seating should contact our ticket office directly for assistance at 216.241.6000.
Wheelchairs can be accessed at the following locations.
Assistive listening devices (ALDs) amplify and improve the sounds that come from the stage. The receivers operate on radio channels that are unique to the Allen, Outcalt and Helen theatres and are heard through headphones. Patrons who would like an ALD to enhance their experience can acquire a device free of charge from the House Manager's office prior to their performance. ALDs are designed to be used without hearing aids. Patrons who use hearing aids and/or cochlear implants with a "T" switch (telecoil) should request a neck loop when they arrive at the theatre. The neck loop will work while your hearing aids remain in place.
At our Open Caption Performances, a screen placed near the stage displays the spoken dialogue as well as the sounds heard during the live production. This allows patrons with hearing disabilities the opportunity to see the stage action and not miss a single word. Patrons who would like to attend these performances should use the promo code OPEN when purchasing their tickets to ensure they will be in view of the captioning screen.
CPH has partnered with the Cleveland Sight Center to provide Audio Described Performances. Patrons with vision disabilities can listen to a description of the visual aspects of the performance described live via a small radio receiver. (This service provides a description of what is happening on the stage during the parts of the performance where there is no dialogue, i.e. during fight scenes. Patrons who would like to attend these performances should use the promo code AUDIO when purchasing their tickets to ensure they will be provided with a special headset. We ask that you make your purchase at least 1 week before your desired performance to ensure we have a describer scheduled for you.
