Appropriate seating for latecomers is at the sole discretion of the director of each production. Patrons who arrive late for performances will be seated at an appropriate break in the performance by the House Manager and may be seated in alternate seats. After intermission, patrons may be reseated in their ticketed seat location.
As a courtesy to the actors and other audience members, please turn off your watch alarm, beeper and cell phone or set them to a non-audible mode, or you may be asked to leave the performance. This includes texting during performances.
Any patron who may need to be contacted during a performance should leave his/her name, theatre and seat location as well as our telephone number (216) 771-8403 with the babysitter or answering service.
Cleveland Play House does not have an official dress code. We want you to be comfortable, so casual attire is fine.
All children need a ticket to attend performances. Children under four are not permitted except for specifically-identified productions.
Cleveland Play House does not cancel or reschedule performances or offer refunds due to inclement weather. Please see our policies on ticket exchanges, donations and, if you are a subscriber, Missed Performance Insurance.
A free coat check is available in the lobby of the Allen Theatre.
For most performances, the snack bar and beverage service are available beginning one hour prior to the performance and during intermission. Only beverages may be taken into the theatre during performances. Food is intended for the lobby area only.
CPH subscribers who are unable to attend scheduled performances may exchange their tickets to another performance of the same production. Please call the CPH Subscriber Services Department at (216) 400-7096 with your tickets in hand, as we will need you to read the barcodes from your tickets.
Exchanges are accepted until two hours before the date and time on your tickets.
When exchanging into a higher-priced performance or seating area, the difference in cost is due at the time of the exchange. Refunds are not given for exchanges into lesser-priced performances or seating areas.

If you are not a CPH Subscriber and need to exchange your tickets, please call the Playhouse Square Customer Service Department at (216) 771-8403 to discuss available options.
On the date of your scheduled performance, call the CPH Subscriber Services Department at (216) 400-7096 at least two hours prior to your performance and we will have duplicates waiting for you at Will Call at no charge.
Cameras, camera phones, audio, video and digital recorders, paging devices and cell phones are not permitted in the theaters. Guests using these items may be ejected without refund.
Backpacks and other large bags are not permitted in the theaters. In some instances, Playhouse Square may require the inspection of all handbags and cases at points of entry. Diaper bags carried into the theater are subject to search at the discretion of security.
Firearms are forbidden inside the theatres.
Smoking is only permitted outside the building.
Items left in the theatres after performances are moved to the lost and found, located at Central Security at Playhouse Square; they can be contacted at (216) 640-8777. Cleveland Play House is not responsible for theft or damage to items left in the theatres or lost and found.
