(Cleveland, OH) Cleveland Play House and The Mexican Committee of Cleveland will host Día Del Niño (Children's Day) on Saturday, April 30from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Pivot Center for Art, Dance and Expression located at 2937 W. 25th St.
As part of CPH's Community Development initiatives, Día Del Niño is a special event to celebrate all children in Greater Cleveland. By partnering with The Comité Mexicano de Cleveland, the event will bring several community partners, organizations, and key stakeholders together to provide fun and safe activities for young people as well as resources for caregivers related to mental health, parenthood, and more.
CPH Director of Community Development Marcela Rodriguez-Gonzalez says, “In multiple Latin American nations, “Día Del Niño” is celebrated to remind adults that children deserve protection, education, and a healthy childhood — regardless of where in the world they were born. This is a day where all children should feel special.” She continues to share, “Children are the world’s most vulnerable population. It is important to spread awareness around issues acutely impacting children, as well as protect their rights.”
Featuring more than 30 community organizations, the festivities for Día Del Niño will include activities, treats and surprises for all children, as well as helpful resources for caregivers. The celebrations will include arts and crafts, face painting, contests, and more, as well as music provided by La Mega Cleveland. The event will also have vaccines available for children and adults.
More than 30 community organizations from Northeast Ohio will participate, including:
- MyCom Network of Cleveland
- Greater Cleveland Food Bank (providing bags of food from their food pantry)
