CLEVELAND PLAY HOUSE’S 2015 BENEFIT "COSMOPOLITAN - A ROARING 20s CELEBRATION" TO TAKE PLACE SATURDAY, JUNE 6 IN THE ALLEN THEATRE

PRESENTING SPONSOR KEYBANK

CLEVELAND, OH (May 8, 2015) Time to put on your glad rags and get all dolled up for Cleveland Play House’s 2015 benefit Cosmopolitan – A Roaring 20s Celebration. CPH’s annual event to benefit its artistic and educational programs is sure to be the cat’s meow on Saturday, June 6th, in the Allen Theatre! Together with Presenting Sponsor KeyBank, Honorary Co-Chairs Roe Green and Eric S. Gordon and Benefit Co-Chairs Luci Schey and Tony Panzica, CPH has put together an elegant evening of dinner, dancing, and an assortment of “roaring” entertainment. The Allen Theatre stage will play host to the dynamic talents of Tony nominee Mary Bridget Davies and Tony nominee Elizabeth A. Davis, with musical back up by Sherrie Maricle & members of the DIVA Jazz Orchestra. A live auction will follow, hosted by Bob Hale of Benefit Auction Services LLC, and the evening will be capped off with dessert and dancing, with music provided by the Mike Petrone Orchestra. Live auction items will include a Trip to London, an extended-stay weekend in NYC, and a named character in an Eric Coble play. Only 100 tickets will be sold for a special “Cosmopolitan Cleveland Centennial Raffle” featuring experiences at Cleveland’s hottest spots.

As America’s first regional theatre and recipient of the 2015 Regional Theatre Tony Award®, CPH has achieved many milestones throughout its storied, celebrated history, and its commitment to arts education has long remained its shining star. Cosmopolitan – A Roaring 20s Celebration will close out CPH’s 99th Season and launch the 100th with style and sizzle. Guests are encouraged to dress in their finest cocktail attire, or to dress according to theme, by grabbing their top hat, flapper crown or Gatsby gown.

The Evening’s Awards

CPH Centennial Star Award – Eric Gordon

CPH’s Centennial Star Award was established to recognize select individuals who have made invaluable contributions to CPH’s rich legacy. There have been four honorees to date; Joel Grey, Roe Green, Tom Zenty and Barbara Snyder. This year’s honoree is Eric Gordon. As the Chief Executive Officer for Cleveland Metropolitan School District, Eric has encouraged and fostered a rich and successful relationship between CPH and the Cleveland Metropolitan School District, which has significantly benefited the students of Cleveland.

The Super Nova Star Award – Roe Green

The Super Nova Star Award is presented to an individual, company, or foundation that has had a unique and extraordinary relationship with Cleveland Play House in a way that has been transformational.
