She has served as a reader for several theaters and festivals and works freelance as a dramaturg and editor for stage plays, screenplays, and manuscripts.

Witchey also serves as Director of Education & Outreach for ICA-Art Conservation and teaches graduate-level museum studies classes for Case Western Reserve University and Johns Hopkins University. She is also Senior Fellow for Museums for EdFutures (http://www.edfutures.org/team), a US-based not-for-profit with a focus on education across the globe in four key areas: strategic leadership, research, policy, and practice. Witchey is the author of Progressive Vision: The History of Downtown Cleveland (1986), An Uncommon Mission (2000), Cocktail at the Museum (2015), The Randall Wade Travel Journals 1870-71 (2016), and The Autobiography of Jeptha Homer Wade: A Modest American (2018). She is the co-author of The Fine Arts in Cleveland: An Illustrated History (1994) with John Vacha. (Playwright) is an LA-based writer, director, and collaborator. Reared by Cajuns in southwest Louisiana, Chelsea has lived and made theatre among the peoples of the Midwest, Appalachia, the Mid-Atlantic, and now the West Coast. In 2016, she completed a Lila Acheson Wallace American Playwrights Fellowship at The Juilliard School. more(Playwright) is an LA-based writer, director, and collaborator. Reared by Cajuns in southwest Louisiana, Chelsea has lived and made theatre among the peoples of the Midwest, Appalachia, the Mid-Atlantic, and now the West Coast. Her plays, which have been produced across the US and Canada, include Airness, Everything is Wonderful, Tiny Houses, Ladyish, Devour, and the online theatrical experience Citizen Detective. She is the recent recipient of the Elizabeth M. Olsen New Play Award (2018) and the Richard Rodgers Award for Musical Theatre (2021). Chelsea is currently working on commissions from Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, Cleveland Play House, Signature Theatre DC, and the Geffen Playhouse, as well as three commercial musicals, and various television and film projects. As a writer, she is extremely interested in humans as small-group primates, and what happens when the rules and value systems of our chosen groups cease to serve us.
