Cleveland Play House, recipient of the 2015 Regional Theatre Tony Award and America's first professional regional theatre is offering a 10-month paid fellowship during the upcoming 2018-19 Season for a female director with at least five years of post-undergraduate directing experience. CPH seeks to fill this fellowship with a female director because of its belief that women are underrepresented in the field, and as part of CPH’s ongoing efforts to work toward a more equitable, inclusive, and diverse community.
Artistic Directing Fellow will receive a monthly stipend of $2,300 (total of $23,000) and a public transportation pass.
Assistant directing is not the focus of this fellowship, though there will be opportunities for meaningful interaction with mainstage season directors. This is an ideal position for a skilled director interested in artistic direction who is looking to learn the operations of a large regional theatre. An MFA in Directing is preferred but not required. Contract runs from August 1, 2018 to May 31, 2019.
Application deadline is March 1. Email cover letter, resume, and one professional letter of recommendation to: firstname.lastname@example.org.
