Let's bring the Lights Up! on actor Nisi Sturgis, a CPH alumnus with a passion for the Play House!
You may remember Nisi from her role as Maggie Dalton in INTO THE BREECHES, or Ken Ludwig’s BASKERVILLE, a Sherlock Holmes mystery where she played many hilarious parts!
If you support CPH’s commitment to community, to artists, to audiences, and to meaningful change, please consider making a donation today to Lights Up! on our campaign website!

It's a bit past midsummer, but we're taking this #FBF to spotlight hot-weather-classic A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM, a Shakespeare comedy CPH has staged 7 times (including a puppet play version in 1924!).
Here's a shot from the 1934/35 show!

Perhaps it's a bit past midsummer — how is it almost August?! — but we're taking this #FBF to spotlight hot-weather-classic A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM. Staged by the Play House seven times (including one puppet play version in 1924!), this beloved Shakespeare comedy continues to delight audiences with its romantic entanglements, mischievous fairies, love potions and sumptuous woodland settings.
Here's a shot from the 1934/35 production, featuring Ester Mullin, Alberta Watkins, Lois Ward, Margaret Leland and Harriet Morley as the fairy queen Titania and her court. Here, they comfort the unfortunately transfigured Nick Bottom (played by Thomas Gomez), an actor whose head has been transformed into a donkey's.
What are your favorite summer-set plays? Let us know in the comments!
