Cleveland Play House Announces 2018 Benefit: The Disco Ball

Posted October 18, 2017 in Press Releases

Cleveland, OH (October 18, 2017) – Cleveland Play House (CPH) will host its annual Benefit The Disco Ball on June 2, 2018 in the Allen Theatre at Playhouse Square. The event will include dinner, an auction, exciting theatre presentations, and will finish out the night with dancing in the Allen Theatre rotunda. Presenting sponsor of the event is KeyBank.

Cleveland Play House is proud to announce the Centennial Star Award recipients for 2018 as Jean and Walter Kalberer, who will be honored at the event. Co-Chairs for the Benefit are Sally Stewart and Craig Buffie. Other chairs include Anne Marie Warren (Corporate Chair), Janet Kramer (Auction Chair), Sandra Kiely Kolb (Host Committee Chair) and Dave Loomis (Volunteer Support Chair).

“On behalf of Cleveland Play House, I am proud to announce that Jean and Walter Kalberer are our Centennial Star Award Honorees for the 2017-18 Season!,” says CPH Managing Director Kevin Moore. “We are thrilled to honor Walt and Jean for their generosity to CPH and our community. They have both been steadfast supporters of CPH for decades, are both long-time members of our Board of Directors, and are both members of the CPH Hall of Fame. At present, they are working hard to advance our education programs, in particular through their $1.5 million challenge to endow our Apprentice Program. What’s more, Walt and Jean love a good party and The Disco Ball is sure to be just that!”

“I have heard it said that there are two ways to be creative,” says Craig Buffie, Executive Vice President of KeyBank. “One can sing, dance and perform … OR one can create an environment in which singers, dancers and performers flourish. Cleveland Play House is both! Fantastic performers and a phenomenal theatre that embraces artistic excellence and the power of art to transform a community. At Key, we too believe that a vibrant cultural scene is vital to bringing the people of our communities closer. That’s why Key is a proud and long-time partner of the Cleveland Play House and we are equally proud to be the 2018 Disco Ball Presenting Sponsor.”

Tickets for the 2018 Benefit are available through Development – please contact Beverly Gans at 216-400-7030, or bgans@clevelandplayhouse.com.
