Cleveland Play House Receives Gift from
Benesch, Friedlander, Coplan & Aronoff LLP
In Honor of James M. Hill
CLEVELAND, OH (January 25, 2017) Cleveland Play House (CPH) will receive a generous gift of $50,000 from Benesch, Friedlander, Coplan & Aronoff LLP to honor longtime Benesch partner, and CPH Board member, James M. Hill.
The gift will be directed to the CPH Apprentice Program which serves up to 12 aspiring theatre professionals – all recent college graduates making the transition from classroom to workforce – each season. To honor Hill’s legacy of service to CPH in recognition of support provided by Benesch, CPH will rename the general management apprenticeship The James M. Hill General Management Apprenticeship for a period of five years. The general management apprentice works with CPH’s General Manager and business office staff to gain a solid understanding of theatre business operations during the apprenticeship.
“Benesch wants to carry on Jim’s legacy and passion for the arts and specifically Cleveland Play House. He was generous in giving his time to an organization he believed in and The James M. Hill General Management Apprenticeship is the perfect way to honor him and his contributions,” said Gregg Eisenberg, Managing Partner of Benesch.
CPH Managing Director Kevin Moore states, “Jim served on the Board of Cleveland Play House for 23 years. He was a long-time member of our Finance Committee, an important advisor to management, and a strong advocate for high-quality artistic and educational programs. Through this gift from Benesch, we are thrilled to establish the James M. Hill General Management Apprenticeship in honor of Jim’s commitment to the CPH cause of great theatre for people from all walks of life.”
