Description: The Properties Apprentice assists the professional staff of the prop shop in a hands-on environment with building and acquiring props for CPH productions. The apprenticeship provides opportunities to work with Prop Artisans on building and painting special crafts projects, welding, woodworking, furniture building and upholstery. Daily tasks will include helping to organize the prop stock and pulling and restocking props for rehearsals and rentals.
The apprentice is required to work comfortably on ladders/scaffolding, be able to lift 50+ pounds, and follow safe working shop procedures. Applicants must be detail-oriented, flexible, positive, organized, self-motivated, willing to learn, and interested in a high paced, multitasking environment.
Work hours vary depending on the needs of the production but are usually 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday-Friday, with weekend calls during technical rehearsals.
