The National Corporate Theatre Fund held its annual gala on April 30 at The Pierre Hotel. The event was emceed by David Alan Grier. The gala, which raised funds for NCTF's 19 member theaters in the United States, honored Harry Connick, Jr. with its Theatre Artist Award, Ernst & Young CEO and NCTF Chairman James S. Turley with the Leadership Award, the Cleveland Clinic with the Institutional Leadership Award, and the Cleveland Play House with the Theatre Artist Award.

"Man on the Moon" Lands in Lakewood

Man and the Moon, written by Eric Schmiedl, is a parable that tells the story of urban growth, decline and renewal. Artists from CPH transform the school’s multi-purpose room into a theatre where students enjoy the play. The two-actor touring company features Cleveland actors Terrell Richardson, Jr. and Andrea Belser, whose characters show the path of progress and the impact of circumstances on a city over time as it constituents move from its urban center to surrounding suburban areas.
The interactive workshop then engages students in a deeper understanding of the play, allowing them to explore how humans interact in both positive and negative ways to influence their entire community. On October 31, the CPH administrative staff moved to our Administration & Education Center at the Middough Building on East 13th. This office building (owned by PlayhouseSquare Foundation) is located next door to Idea Center® at PlayhouseSquare, and we are leasing floors 2 and 5 of this location from Cleveland State University. The KeyBank concourse is up! You can now walk from the 2nd floor of the PlayhouseSquare parking garage right through the center of our new venues.
As you enter the walkway from the garage, on your left is the Lab Theatre. An elevator and a staircase will take you to the ground floor lobby of this theatre (main entrance right off Dodge Court). Keep walking, and further on your left is the Second Stage.
